I am
an artist working in the ever-changing area of sculptural mixed media. The
materials in my work include aluminum, copper, stainless steel, and a
large variety of “found objects” which I use to create unique
household accessories, such as timepieces, lighting, mirrors and vases.
Environmentalist could consider my studio a “Green Studio” since 75% of
all the materials I use recycled. These recycled materials and objects are
discovered in motorcycle and automotive junkyards and general metal scrap
yards (which furnish all of the plate aluminum). Depending on the vision
of the observer, this “trash”, “scrap”, or “treasure” is then transformed,
reworked, altered, and reassembled into beautiful, functional works of
art. The joy I receive from the design process is in part derived from
this transformation of the found materials into objects of lasting beauty
and fresh appreciation.
